SPARK- Experiment 26
Each Space is connected to every other Space.
(Matrix Code SPARK026.00)
NOTES: Physical Spaces are constructed out of physical materials using physical tools, such as hammers, saws, wood, steel, and glass. The shape of the physical materials defines the Space’s physical appearance and functionality. In comparison, Energetic Spaces are constructed out of energetic fields and forces using energetic tools such as Attention, Intention, Purpose, and your 3 Powers. If the Purpose of an Energetic Space is not Intentional, then the Energetic Space defaults to serving Unconscious Purposes and applies Standard Human Intelligence Thoughtware.
Each Energetic Space has a Context. The Context determines what is Possible in that Space. This S.P.A.R.K. says that you can take Radical Responsibility for the Context of whatever Energetic Space is present. That means, whatever Context is present, is present because you are sourcing that particular Context to be present. The fact that one particular Context is present in an Energetic Space is no Excuse or Reason why any other Context could not instead be present in that Energetic Space. Serving as a Possibilitator starts when you Notice what Context is present in Energetic Spaces, and then you Decide if that is the Context that best serves your Purposes. Your Space Navigating starts at the level of Context.
If the present Space with its Context is not appropriate, or you want to have a different Space because it would better create Clarity and Possibility in the given circumstances, then it is your job to collect the people together and shift them out of the Space with the current Context into a new Space with an entirely different Context. You do this by applying a set of Possibilitator Skills that include ‘Cavitating Space’, ‘Holding Space’, and ‘Navigating Space’. For example, you may want to shift the Space of a meeting away from argument, Gremlin competition, and defended Positionality, towards Creative Collaboration through Conscious Feelings, Discovery Listening, Discovery Speaking, and Radical Relating.
The key to Space Navigation is knowing about ‘Triality’. This starts by recognizing that the common idea of ‘Duality’ – that there is either ‘this’ or ‘that’, ‘peace’ or ‘war’, ‘good’ or ‘bad’, ‘light’ or ‘dark’, etc., fails until you acknowledge the ‘third force’, which is the Gap between the two. If there were no Gap, there could only one thing – ‘Unity’ – not two things. The Gap is the third thing – a void that permits the other two things to be different from each other – thus the importance of the name ‘Triality’.
What is in a Gap? Nothing. What is Possible in a Gap? Everything. Our most remarkable Discovery is that a Gap at one place is the same Gap as a Gap at any other place! This means that every Space is connected to every other Space using the Gap between Spaces as a Space interconnection superconductor This means that in the Great Labyrinth of Spaces, any Space is available from any other Space, at any time, for no Reason. You can suddenly shift from whatever Space you are in to any other Space if you fall into the Gap.
Since the Space determines what is Possible, a Possibilitator need never remain stuck in any particular Space that has a lack of Possibility, because at any moment you can take everyone from one Space into any another Space, from which comes the observation: “A Possibilitator is resourceful.” This can be shocking news, because it also reveals your uncompromising Responsibility. If you feel stuck, or are not Creating useful Results, the Feedback is telling you that you have simply not Navigated into a Space that holds the Possibilities you need.
EXPERIMENT:
SPARK026.01 IDENTIFY ‘DUALITY’ CONVERSATION SPACES For the next 7 days, tune your Attention everywhere you go to detect Duality conversations. Anyone announcing a polarized position is initiating Low Drama, even by saying, “It is too hot in here,” or, “I don’t know how to do this,” or, almost anything modern parents shout at their children. A polarized interaction is a ‘right / wrong’ Duality war happening on either side of a Gap… a Gap in swarming with unlimited alternate Possibilities. Put your Attention on the Gap while still listening to the Declared Positions, without letting your mind ‘snap in’ to either of the Story Worlds. Keep Centered. Keep Grounded. Keep Bubbled. Keep breathing. In your Beep! Book, list the Duality war zones you capture. Stay amazed. Notice every time your Box or Gremlin wants to side with one or the other of the Positions. Integrate your sensitivity for detecting Dualities into your normal Scanning. Each Gap contains Space Navigation resources, accessible either by keeping one ‘foot’ in the current Space while putting your other ‘foot’ into the Gap to fish out new angles, or, by dragging everyone in your current Space into the Gap with you so you can pop everyone into a new Space with a new Context. The point is, if you cannot detect the Gaps, you can’t use them. In Polarized interactions the Gap stands out like neon lights. Write and publish an Article about what you learn, titled something like: Hidden Resources for Escaping Conflict.
SPARK026.02 NOTICE WHAT CONTEXT IS ACTIVE IN SPACES For the next 7 days, take your Beep! Book into your life open to a page where you list 4 to 6 Bright Principles that you feel attracted to. Soak yourself in the Bright Principles and use this sensation as a detector to sniff out which Principles (Bright or Shadow…) feed the Context of each human interaction Space you encounter. The Purpose of this Experiment is to unleash your audacity to prefer one Context over another. Hold a Quest-Ion near your Center that is asking: “Is that the Context I want for this Space?” It does not matter what your answer is. What matters is that you are able to have an answer, and to Notice the Purpose of your own preference. If your preference comes from your Box lighting up, is is probably a Survival Purpose. If your preference comes from your Bright Principles lighting up, the Context probably has to do with Discovery, Healing, Transformation, Adventure, High Level Fun, and so on. Try to amplify your Context-sensing capacity so that you can Scan Context from a greater and greater distance. NOTE: If you discover someone who sources a Context which you cannot Scan, approach them and ask if you can interview them about what they are Creating. It could well be something very interesting.
SPARK026.03 FIND THE GAPS BETWEEN SPACES Practice the skills given at the Split Your Attention website <splityourattention.mystrikingly.com> to gain the ability to maintain Split Attention for most of the day. The Purpose is to build up your ‘Attention muscles’ so that you can Notice more than one thing at the same time. This is important for Holding and Navigating Space with one part of your Attention, while you loosely direct your ‘free roving’ Attention to Go To The Edges of the current Space and find the Gaps. Your Intention is to keep a Gap in reserve at all times. Then, in the instant you need a Gap, you are already partly in it. You don’t have to go looking for a Gap. At first this can feel strange, as if you are living a dual life, living in parallel worlds, parallel cultures, parallel Contexts. It can help if, in your Possibility Team, you watch and discuss the film Secret Society, directed by Imogen Kimmel. With your Attention Split between the current Space and other possible Spaces, you are never trapped. There is an enjoyable ecstasy in being so free of confinement. Other people around you may feel trapped, but you won’t. Yes, that makes you different from the others. But… you are already different from the others. Everyone is. You are simply making use of it. Yes, your Gremlin might get excited about the idea of ‘running circles around everyone else’ who cannot see what you are doing. But tell your Gremlin, “Sit still and pay Attention to my requests!” You need your Gremlin at your side as an ally. You are learning Possibilitator Skills. They are for Adults, not for uninitiated Gremlins.
SPARK026.04 PRACTICE MAKING SPACE TO SPACE SEGUE PHRASES A ‘Segue Phrase’ (pronounced ‘seg way’) is a verbal bridge over which you can bring your Team from one Space into a new Space that offers entirely new Clarity and Possibilities. In your Possibility Team, visit and Study together the Segue Phrase website <seguephrase.mystrikingly.com> and Practice until Segue Phrases become a natural option for you in your everyday Relating. Organize into Teams of 3, with a Possibilitator sitting across from a Client, and a Coach sitting to the side of the Possibilitator. The Possibilitator decides if the Client is themselves, or someone in general, or role-plays a specific person from the Possibilitator’s life with whom they want to Practice. Then the Possibilitator and the Client begin a conversation in which the Possibilitator uses Segue Phrases to Navigate to Spaces of greater Clarity and Possibility. The Coach gives realtime Feedback and Coaching to the Possibilitator. After 15 minutes, change roles and continue until everyone has had a chance to practice making Segue Phrases. Then get into new Teams of 3 and practice again.
SPARK026.05 PRACTICE MAKING NONLINEAR (ORTHOGONAL) MOVES FROM ONE SPACE TO ANOTHER SPACE Because you have been trained to identify yourself as being your Box, you automatically assume that each Space you are in is the only Space there is. You Assume the Space is a solid immovable permanent reality. You go Unconscious during the natural shifts between one Space and another Space, and you forget that you were ever in a Space other than the one that presently exists. This Experiment is to start using the new Thoughtware that each Space is connected to every other Space through Gaps. You can Practice this by Intentionally making Nonlinear (orthogonal) moves from one Space to another Space. The way to shift Space is to go over to the Edge of the current Space, make sure that you are Connected with everyone else in the Space, lean your shoulder gently up against the wall of that Space, and then pop through the wall into the Gap. The time in the Gap is so small that it is almost immeasurable. The next thing you know is that you pop into the Space where you placed your Intention. Everyone you are in contact with at the time of the shift will be in the next Space with you. For example, let us assume that you are in a meeting and the group has worked its way into a Space where the pending project or decision has become impossible due to Confusion or discouragement. Whether you are the official Spaceholder or not, you can take Responsibility for shifting the Space. To shift the Space you might start with a Nonlinear Quest-Ion – questions are a powerful tool for Navigating Space – such as, “Who are we really?” By asking such a question, everyone’s attention goes to you so that you can make Contact. Then you can agree with the group’s conclusion in order to eliminate logical opposition: “It is true that the job is impossible.” Now that there is no enemy to contradict your move, you can lean up against the wall of the present Space and invoke the new Space: “Fortunately, we are the team who loves to do impossible jobs.” In the new Space, the circumstances are the same, but the Possibilities are entirely different. Then put some energetic stakes into the new territory, to stabilize the Space, and to assure you can find your way back. Stakes can be Nonlinear action steps, such as, “If we had to do the job in half the time, how could we do it?” Or, “What makes you angry about this job?” Or, “What are all the ways we could fail with this job?” Or, “Who would be able to do this job? What qualities do they have? How can we acquire those abilities?” And so on. Another example might be with children. Imagine two or three children arguing with each other. Instead of trying to stop the argument or scold the children, remember that children only become agitated in 5 conditions: thirsty, hungry, tired, physical pain, or the need for loving Attention. Often it is the last: needing your Attention. To shift the Space you can fulfill children’s need for Attention by momentarily dropping everything else that you are focused on and giving the children 100% of your high quality Attention. To begin, start with a nonlinear question: “Where are the Egyptian tomb raiders?” Your questions need not make total sense. When the children come to you, let them make physical contact by squatting down to their level and letting yourself be touched. They await your lead. Depending on their age you can say, “I am going to arm-wrestle you all at once.” Or, “Let’s have a staring contest.” Or, “I have a certain amount of energy. You can use it any way you like. If you conserve my energy by following the small rules, then I will use my energy to help you break the big rules.” If you are solidly in contact with everyone in the Space, then when you move, everyone else moves with you. When you press on the wall you discover that what at first appears to be so solid is no more resistant than wet tissue paper. The mind shifts identification from one Space to the next Space as easily as changing channels on the television. People will suddenly find themselves comfortably and effectively operating in the new Space without knowing exactly how they got there. You already make such Space shifts many times a day although you make most of these moves to serve Unconscious Purposes without being aware of what you are doing. This Experiment is to consciously shift from one Space into a more productive Space 3 times during each day.
